Same-Day Assessment and Care

Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)

Rapid Diagnosis & Treatment at Our Ambulatory Emergency Care Clinic

Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot that develops in the deep veins, most often in the legs. It is a serious condition that requires prompt diagnosis and treatment to prevent complications such as pulmonary embolism.

At Friends Medical Service, our Ambulatory Emergency Care (AEC) Clinic provides same-day assessment, diagnostics, and treatment for suspected DVT, without the need for an overnight hospital stay.

What Symptoms Suggest DVT?

Seek urgent assessment if you have:

  • Swelling in one leg
  • Pain or tenderness, often starting in the calf
  • Warmth or redness of the skin over the affected area
  • Unexplained discomfort in the leg
If you develop sudden chest pain, breathlessness, or coughing up blood, call 999 as this may indicate a pulmonary embolism.

  • Why Choose AEC for DVT?

  • Same-day ultrasound and blood tests for rapid confirmation
  • Immediate anticoagulation therapy if DVT is diagnosed
  • Managed by senior consultants with emergency medicine expertise
  • Avoid unnecessary hospital admission
  • Clear follow-up plan and continuity of care
