What Length of appointment should I book?
We Recommend:
15 minutes: Single issue – cold, UTI, hay fever, ear/eye infection, fit note, repeat prescription (non-controlled), referral letter
30 minutes: Two concerns, or ongoing condition – fatigue, anxiety, blood test review, blood pressure, digestive issues, sleep, migraine
45 minutes: Complex or chronic – mental health, menopause, ADHD query, long COVID, diabetes review, three or more concerns
If you have ANY of the following — STOP. Do not book. Call 999 immediately.
- Chest pain or suspected heart symptoms
- Severe difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
- Signs of stroke – face drooping, arm weakness, slurred speech
- Collapse, loss of consciousness or seizures
- Severe bleeding
- Suicidal intent or immediate risk of harm to self or others
- Severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis)
Do NOT book a video appointment if you need any of the following:
- A physical examination – abdominal, chest, neurological, or reflex testing
- A procedure – ear wax removal, wound swab, injection
- A lymph node or lump to be felt/palpated
- Assessment of a possible fracture or acute physical injury

See a GP in person at one of our clinics. This option is best if you need a physical examination, a procedure, or any hands-on assessment that can't be done remotely, for example checking a wound, listening to your chest, or examining a specific area of concern

Speak to a GP remotely by video from wherever suits you. This is suited to general advice, medication reviews, follow-up appointments, or discussing symptoms that don't require a physical examination. If you think you may need to be examined in person, please book a face-to-face appointment instead.
