Home Sleep Apnoea Test in Northern Ireland
A home sleep apnoea test lets you check for sleep apnoea in your own bed, with a simple take-home device and one night of recording. There is no need to stay overnight in a clinic. It suits people who snore heavily, wake up gasping, or feel tired all day despite a full night in bed. You can book with your own referral, or choose the option that includes an FMS GP referral and management if you would like us to look after the whole process.

Choose the home sleep apnoea test on its own if you already have a referral (£210), or choose the option that includes an FMS GP referral and management (£280) if you would like our GP to oversee your referral and next steps. We are happy to advise which is right for you.
What the home sleep test involves
A small device is posted to your home within three days of booking. You wear it for one night at home following simple instructions. The device records things like your breathing, oxygen levels and snoring while you sleep. The recording is then reviewed and interpreted by our team, so you get a clear answer rather than raw data.
Signs of sleep apnoea
Sleep apnoea is when your breathing repeatedly pauses during sleep, often without you realising. A partner frequently notices it before you do.

Why sleep apnoea is worth checking
Untreated sleep apnoea does more than make you tired. Over time it is linked to high blood pressure, heart problems and poorer blood sugar control, and the daytime sleepiness it causes is a real risk for drivers. The good news is that it is very treatable once it is found.

If the test shows sleep apnoea, we explain the result clearly and talk you through the options. These can include lifestyle changes and CPAP therapy, which is the most effective treatment for moderate to severe sleep apnoea, and we set out the pathway to get started.
