Thyroid Blood Test in Lurgan, Northern Ireland

What this test analyses
A full thyroid blood test. It checks how well your thyroid is working (TSH, free T4 and free T3) and looks for the antibodies linked to autoimmune thyroid conditions, such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. Your results are reviewed by our GP.

Symptoms of an underactive thyroid
An underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism) slows things down. It is the more common of the two and is very treatable once found.

Symptoms of an overactive thyroid
An overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism) speeds things up and can affect the heart, so it is worth checking promptly.
