About
Dr Edgar Boggs brings over 20 years of experience in gynaecology to Friends Medical Service, with expert knowledge on pelvic floor disorders, prolapse, bladder incontinence, abnormal uterine bleeding. He specialises in minimally invasive surgery for prolapse, bladder sling surgery and outpatient hysteroscopy from his work as a consultant gynaecologist at Southern Trust (Craigavon and Daisy Hill Hospitals).
After graduating from Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) in 1999, Dr Boggs completed his training through the NI Medical and Dental Training Association. After this, he spent two years in Toronto, Canada, to complete his Fellowship in Advanced Gynaecology and Pelvic Floor Surgery.
Dr Boggs is also a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG), the British Society of Gynaecology Endoscopy (BSGE), full registration with the General Medical Council and is the Chair of the Southern Trust MDT for Urogynaecology.
Dr Boggs specialist area is urogynaecology, with particular expertise in prolapse and incontinence, and is one of the few clinicians who provides prolapse & incontinence assessment and advanced surgical treatment.
He brings a unique blend of being able to utilise a broad knowledge base accrued over an experienced career as well as a patient-centred approach that enables him to fully listen and understand his patients' concerns and thus provide them the best level of care possible.
